Christians & porn

Christians & porn
Christian books are as funny as memes. Like the Christian books on porn. Porn is yet another thing that is destroying Christians. Like the book "Surfing for God: Discovering the Divine Desire Beneath Sexual Struggle" explains to us from its' description:

Quote:In a world where there are 68 million searches for pornography every day and where over 70 percent of Christian men report viewing porn in the last year, it’s no surprise that more and more men struggle with an addiction to this false fantasy [talk about calling a pot kettle black]. Common wisdom says if they just had more willpower or more faith, their fight would be over. Is the answer really that simple? According to counselor and ministry leader Michael John Cusick, the answer is no - but the truth may be much more freeing.

Cusick’s insights help readers understand how porn struggles begin, what to do to prevent them, and most importantly, how to overcome the compulsion once it begins. In the end, this powerful book shows us all how the barrier built by porn addiction can become a bridge to abundant life.

Talk about false fantasy (from the book from Amazon):

Christians can't control themselves. They watch porn and then feel so bad and promise God that they'll never ever do it again, but then they watch it again, and again:

I think I have a solution: stop worshiping non-existing people because they are not humans and therefore you set yourself for impossible goals to reach to which you will certainly fail and therefore feel bad and give even more money to the church to "heal" you. Jesus didn't feel lust because he is only a literary creation (whether there was some historical person behind it or not).
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Theists are sexually repressed.

In the worst possible way.

It causes this weird distortion as well, where things seem worse than they actually are. For instance, in Mormonism, purity is a big thing, so, viewing porn even once is called an addiction. They think that because you can't eliminate natural lust completely by willpower and Jesus alone(AND abstaining from intimacy until you're married) that it must be an aberrant desire. Porn addiction is not giving in every once in a while to what the body needs. Yet they pervert the terminology, making men feel like they are sick for not being entirely passionless until they are married.

Give them credit. They struggle, fight, often go insane. But they are still fighting for "higher goals" of impossible standards.

The very core of Christianity is a piece of BDSM snuff porn.

Undoubtedly throughout its history a good chunk of Christianity’s appeal is that it functions as holy porn in an era of maximum sexual repression, much of the repression being of a type that happen to enlarge the market for that very type of BDSM snuff porn.

Cloistered Religious devotion is nothing more than an attempt to create some of the emotional elements of sexual orgasm through the back door.

Christianity doesn't oppose porn. Christianity inspires porn.

I’d like to know how the author came up with figure of 68 million searches for pornography a day, worldwide. Hell, I know a group of local uni students who could rack that up in a month.

Probably through data provided by major search engines and/or data collected from big internet routers.

One interesting question.   China is renowned for having a strictly censored internet walled off by the so called great fire wall of China.   Porn, along with dissenting political opinions are strictly prohibited on the Chinese internet.   Searches for porn sites, and sources of criticism of the ruling party from outside China are immediately extinguished by the great firewall.

But alledgedly freedom loving dissenters uses VPN and various other stratagems to penetrate the great fire wall.

My question, what percentage of the effort by people inside of China to penetrate the great firewall is motivated by desire for freedom and access to uncensored information and discussion.

And what percentage is by people in China searching for porn?

Or a rectal retrieval algorithm.
