RE: What's everyone up to right now?

So, here’s a strange thing: every year, before going up to Door County, I watch Pan’s Labyrinth. This year, for whatever reason, I could not complete the task because the disc started going apeshit at the one hour mark. Even after cleaning the disc, the issue persisted. So, I decided to get another one. And this time, I even got a different edition (the two-disc edition instead of the single-disc.) And not only does the same thing happen on this disc, it does so at the same fucking time. And, yes, the original disc worked fine for over a decade.

Crap. When I unplugged the extension cord for the chest freezer this morning, I unplugged both ends. Sitting here at the baseball park, I realized that I only plugged one end back in. This is going to eat at me all evening.

Well, I returned the disc to Half-PRice Books, hoping to test the other four copies in stock to see if any of them work properly. While I did get the return and refund, I did not get to check any of the other copies, since the portable DVD player was out of power.

I've been fucking irritable all day today. That's usually the most reliable indicator of depression with me. I hope it's just a stress thing, because I don't need an episode of depression.

I'm currently "Orbiting Cloud Nine" due to having secured a job interview next Tuesday, having been out of work for the best part of a decade.
No pressure then! Hahaha

Where will you be working, and why out of work so long?

Support worker for learning disabilities and autistic peeps etc. I've been on the sick, and then in a benefits trap (didn't make financial sense to work) combined with roundly FAILING to write novels. Thanks for taking an interest.

Taking meds, having a second cup of morning coffee and listening to the rain pattering on the windowsill.
