 What an interesting flair for understatement you have.

It's my understanding that people of the Middle Kingdom as well those living in The Land Of The rising Sun, still consider themselves  to be the only civilised people on earth. 

Systemic racism remains throughout the US and in my own country. In my opinion it will take at least another century to grow through it.

I could really only speak for what I've seen from my own country. I don't know enough about the rest of the world to comment, but what you said doesn't surprise me.

In my opinion it's possible, even likely, that xenophobia  is hard wired in human beings. I think it's likely that at one time there was an evolutionary advantage to fearing anyone not part of one's group. However, I feel fairly confident in saying this no longer the case within most post industrial societies. Seems to me that the time has come for us to fucking well get over ourselves.

We may not be able to control how we feel, but we can control how we behave.  Behaving like an ignorant racist cunt is childish and is becoming slowly less acceptable.  As I said, at least another hundred years. Eventually, it's my hope that differences in skin colour and sexual preferences/ identity may be used to describe people rather than to judge them.

There are a lot of narratives around racism that compete for societal ubiquity.  I care about truth, not trendy narratives.

Lawz has mentioned a competing narrative that the woke world hates, and wants to beat down, but I see all narratives as propaganda.  Each one exaggerates their position compared to reality.

Some white people think "why can't Black people just walk the White path -- they will find White success".  The BLM people are "White people want to keep us down and put us in jail or kill us -- that's the only reason we aren't succeeding".

Both sides have some truth and some bullshit about them.

The problem is that the second point of view has a lot more truth to it. The first po8nt of view is only truthful in the US if you take an IngSoc definition of truth.

Came upon this guy while watching  a Amanpour broadcast. Don't know if it fits in this discussion but thought I'd throw it in. 

McWhorter argues that certain strains of anti-racism and its adherents have effectively created a religion, and a zealous one, that stifles nuance and debate. His new book is called Woke Racism: How a New Religion Has Betrayed Black America.

There are people "whose devotion is less to changing lives for people who need help than showing that they understand that racism and especially systemic racism exists," McWhorter tells Morning Edition.

McWhorter's views on racism wouldn't look out of place in Der Volkischer Beobachter or Der Schwarze Korps. Either he's one of the vanishingly few US blacks who's never had to endure racismand thus dismisses it or he's so insecure about his position he's adopted an Uncle Tom mentality.

If MLK Jnr adopted McWhorter's ideology the Civil Rights movement would have never got off the ground.
