Hundreds of thousands less, apparently. Maybe that's the thing. People who are bored by their countries' relative lack of political obstruction in public health have free time to tell us, who have plenty of it, how to save ourselves from it..... with those very politics.

They apply for disability if they are afraid to leave their homes and want to hibernate for the rest of their lives. I know disability doesn't pay much, and that's a shame. I'd like to see that change, but for now, it is what it is.

I didn't say they absolutely have to apply for disability. They can just stay on and do their jobs. It's their freedom of choice to decide if they are too afraid to go out into the world, or if they want to continue with their current job.

I wouldn’t mind seeing eligibility for government assistance being made contingent on vaccination status.

Just as it's a persons own choice whether they want to comply with their employers requirements, IA. As with your many reliable interests, you fail to realize that under us law, a private entity can do things that the public administration cannot - assuming that's the case in a sense other than government by trolling and spite. People can lose their jobs...sure. People can also quit. Anti vax nuts haven't misplaced their job. It's not under the couch cushions. They quit. It's up to them to decide if they're so afraid of vaccines they can't go to work.

Certainly won't be getting any disability benefits for it...though I'm sure they'll lobby for unemployment without a trace of irony.

Morbid curiosity, I checked how many Canadians had died.  30k.  I can see why a person would fail to accurately register the level of danger.  Canada handled the pandemic more competently….stricter lockdowns, no death cult, a more uniform response, no death cult, mask mandates, no death cult, vaccine mandates…and….importantly…no death cult.

Oh I dunno, I interact with plenty of Canadian expats in Mexico who definitely have that death cult vibe. They're coming here in droves to escape "tyranny".

I'd say their death cult is just less effective than in the USA.

Worth noting, the 30k dead in Canada isn’t immediately comparable to the 875k dead in America. Canada has significantly less population than the US. That said, even accounting for that, Canada would still have 30% of the deaths the US has had, proportion-wise, anyway.

In other covid conspiracy news, Rand Paul went on OAN and said the quiet part out loud. Accusing the us government of trying to murder the deplorables.

These are the people who think we’re a bunch of rubes in flyover country and they have utter disdain for us. These are the people who would actually limit our access to treatment for COVID ... Too many deplorables, too many Republicans, too many conservatives are getting sick and so their way to punish is by not sending treatment, and I think it’s abominable ... I’ve known people who’ve died from COVID and I’ve seen liberals stomping on their graves and laughing hysterically that a conservative died from COVID.

Naturally, Ron Desantis and Ted Cruz have also decided that's the new angle, spouting off more genteel variations on the theme in their respective capacities.
