What?

When I clock into work tonight, I'm heading directly over to the rehab side and choosing my assignment in the back. Let the rest of the aides argue for an hour over what they want to do concerning the schedule and assignments.

I feel bad, although I've been told I shouldn't.

She's a kind woman, but her work priorities are skewed. I knew she was outside and I could have simply gone out there to get her when I noticed she had been gone for a while. I didn't need her, there were no emergencies with the residents, but I admit I somewhat wanted this nurse to receive a sort of awakening that I wouldn't have been able to provide by simply allowing her to stay outside and not doing anything.

Granted, had an administration member not been there, he likes to arrive early in the mornings to get work done he might not be able to compete later in the day. Anyway, I told him the situation, that she had been missing for some time and hadn't started her morning med pass. He went outside to get her back in.

Turns out, he wasn't too bright in leaving my name out of it. He told her I was worried about where she might be when she knew I was aware of her whereabouts.

Her excuse, "I was just staring at the stars."

Really? I have to keep tabs on you, my superior, because you want to be mesmerized by the night sky?

Now she probably thinks I'm a horrible person for having run to someone about her missing. And then people wonder why I prefer to keep to myself and not be overly social. Oh, well, time to employ this wonderful tool of compartmentalization.

Slowly getting chapter twelve written.

One would think since they're short chapters, only one-thousand words (thereabouts), it would be easier to whip them out. Sometimes I can, if I'm in a particular mood, but other times finishing a chapter can take forever.

And with such short chapters, I'm still working with the beginning of the novel. Even though a great deal has happened so far.

Gave my two weeks notice. Not going into detail, but suffice it to state the place has worn thin on me. I do not have another job lined up. Going to take a short break to recuperate from frayed nerves.

You are in a really challenging industry, in terms of what you have to do. I salute your efforts, and hope that you find a better position.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
