RE: Lieblingswandern
I've got a new routine.

On good, nice days, I walk Hill K around lunch time. On bad days, I simply walk the yard perimeter once(including driveway) at 7:30 p.m. Every night, regardless of daytime temp, once blue twilight sets in(8:30-9), I walk the perimeter twice. I have stretched it to where one entire circuit equals to half a mile. So doing twice equals a mile.

I have officially incorporated the 10 lbs in the shorter hill and half mile circuit. Hurts. Throbs. Not too much to manage but you know how it be. With the 7.5 lbs I always feel like I'm only going to do half when I hit the first quarter point. But Samsung Health giving me a little yippee when I hit the halfway point and the way the wind feels on the stretch of backyard, I always convince myself to just go ahead and keep going.

And walking the yard after dark, I listen to my audio books so I'm making noise. In case the bears decide to cut through.

I am losing weight. Steadily. Saturday I was 255. Sunday I was 254. Tonight I'm 253.

I get wary of losing weight too quickly. Am I losing muscle mass? I had an omelet on bagel this morning with a slice of ham and a cup of cherries(fresh). Chickpea rice with half a cup of pinto beans done up tex mex style mixed in it. And tonight, I had some pesto noodles, with a quarter cup of each: corn, chickpeas, sliced carrots, stir fry veggies mix that included random onions, carrots, pea pods, and red and green peppers. With butternut squash sauce, ragu alfredo, and a dash of pesto. All mixed together in a Frankenstein meal called "Favorite things".

Not a lot of meat protein but I'm having trouble affording it lately. I expected to lose weight at some point, to balance out what I was gaining in my arms and my calves. Will do measurements this Friday, see if any of the right places are getting slimmer or toned. My ass still feels chunky trunk. I am willing to accept my impression might be wrong if the measuring tape spells differently. If my measurements remain stagnant though... I'll be concerned about whether my precious biceps are fading instead.

I'm lifting 2x 10 lbs kettlebells now while I walk 2 miles each day. I listen to audiobooks while walking now and it's a fun treat. I finished I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy and it was good. I knew her a bit from Nickelodeon growing up and always thought she had great comedic energy. Kinda souring to realize how little she enjoyed it and how many problems she had at the time, how much the memory of the character she played humiliates her.

Now I'm listening to the last book in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. It took me a little bit to get on board. It's like book 11, so, it felt tacked on to the series at first, like Moning was just finding reasons to not let everyone go. But now midway through its caught me and I'm enjoying it and see the value in this additional story being told in this world.

I am not losing weight. My ass is still fat. I'm trying to stay the course. I feel like by the time I get to lifting 2x 20 lbs, I'll start to see the differences and be able to slim down. I'm eating protein and pasta and a shit ton of veggies. I'm not gaining weight is the good thing. Every other time I have lifted weights or tried, I've given up too early. I gotta keep going. I'm only lifting 10 lbs in each hand so far. That's not a lot, really. I gotta keep building my ability to lift more.

If you liked Moning, you should give the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire a go.
