Bought Hogwart's Legacy. Actually I bought it twice. I bought the version for older consoles by mistake and was so bent about it that I just went ahead and spent the extra money to get the correct version. I'm still a little hurt, but less so knowing that I won't spend hours playing the game and wondering what I'm missing in terms of graphics from the correct version. Merry Christmas! Bah humbug!

An Asmodeus Tiefling, for Hellish Rebuke, as a monk, for a zen-like demeanor, with an ironic twist of being The Way of Shadow subclass. I found this video helpful. Skip to 10:45 for the important part. Basically he's gone through and listed which classes to take based upon who you plan to include in your party. For my part, I'm just ignoring the finer points on my first play-through. Once I've had a good start just enjoying the game then I can restart aiming to complete the game. I don't have the ideal party composition by any stretch, but I'm enjoying the friction that Laezel brings to the party.
There sure is a heck of a lot to do in Hogwarts Legacy.

In thirty-two hours, I finished the main game of Hogwarts Legacy, because the final quest was at a lower level than where I was with the side quests. I am going to stop playing for now, and focus on BG3.

I keep trying to get back into the game, because I really want to like it, but I just keep struggling with liking the turn-based system. Probably only half of the hundred hours is devoted to actual game play, with the other half spent with character creation trying to find a class that might work for me. How is your druid character treating you?

I don't really know. My character seems capable, but I'm more struggling with the disadvantages associated with different party compositions. I'd like to leave Gale in camp so he isn't constantly sucking down magical items. I like Shadowheart, but she brings a host of drawbacks alongside her strengths. She's not much of a team player. I'd sub Wyll for Gale, but Gale has better offensive spells. And I like Laezel because she's a neat character, but she's pretty one-dimensional. And Astarion's rogue skills are hard to leave in camp. A lot of the problems are just teething pains as once party members get six or seven levels on them, the weak spots will have less of an impact on combat. But for now it's a struggle. I don't really care how well or poorly my first playthrough goes. I got all the way to freeing Halsin with my first character and now that I'm on my second character, I'm realizing that I missed a ton of stuff in the first playthrough. Just slowing down and methodically checking out all the paths yields about fourfold the stuff you find if you only concentrate on the next objective. I'm finding there's an incredible amount of stuff crammed into every nook and cranny, not counting the road not taken. I'm going to leave Kagha to Halsin to deal with, but I decided to see what happens if you kill her before reaching Halsin. It wasn't what I expected.
Creating another character, lol.
I did enjoy the Warlock in a previous run, since it is one of the easiest classes to play, but this time I am making it a deep gnome. Eldritch Blast!

BG3: wish I had paid more attention to Misty Step sooner. It is a marvelous ability.
