The art of not playing games
March 26, 2017 at 5:26 pm
(This post was last modified: March 26, 2017 at 5:26 pm by Silent Snob.)
The art of not playing games is, according to my definition:
Just not playing games for some sort of gain/achieving a goal. Not playing games, whatever game it may be, to achieve some goal. Playing games in order to make a point/gaining something/preventing boredome, in a disguised character that is expressing itself as a (mere) game-character is called what?!
Mere Gaming?
Not playing some mere game is what I call an honest expression.
Why and what for even play games? Life itself isn't sufficiant and thrilling enough?
Just askin'...
...what's playing (internet and other) games are all about? Especially on an internet-forum?
Please elaborate.

Fun.
Interaction on a different level with other forum members.
And, in the case of elimination-type forum games, imagining the demise of people in fun, artistic, original and, preferably, gruesome ways.

Should I take that as some kind of threat of some sort?
Nice one, nevertheless.

No, trust me.
You can ask anyone here: if I was going to make threats toward you there would be absolutely no doubt that it was a threat.
I don't do subtle. Subtle is something that happens to other people, usually with a brick attached.

You lost me at "Cool!"
I'm intermittently flipping between Mass Effect: Andromeda and Horizon Zero Dawn at the moment.

Yes life itself is DEFINITELY not thrilling enough without games.
I have no sex life and I hate the outdoors. If I never played video games to escape my humdrum existence I'd probably kill myself.

Bah... new games with lots of distracting eye candy!
Unreal Tournament, Game of the Year edition, from 1999. That thing runs perfectly on every computer, nowadays, even the crappier laptop.
Pair it with an automatic sniper rifle capable of tossing out some 5 rounds per second, each with a very real possibility of producing a head-shot (don't forget to duck!).
Oh and tons and tons and tons of custom maps!

I'll give it a go again when I get my new laptop.
But I am concerned that the lag for me is due to me not being able to afford faster internet.
Because even my current laptop can handle 1v1 with ease, I'm sure, because it handles offline mode just fine.
Wanna play some more Red Alert online when I get my new keyboard?

My new pathfinder character in Mass Effect is interesting.
Just have to build her some decent armour. Resources. Must get more resources...
