Croatian ancient river naming conventions

Well, I think that the charges against my father's paedophilia were an honest mistake. My father doesn't think that. He thinks that the director of the Donji Miholjac social security got into legal trouble and tried to get out of his legal trouble by "catching" a paedophile.
As for fabricating the war, I think there are probably financial motives behind it. Germany sent a lot of weapons to Croatia because of the supposed war, so did Russia send to Serbia. Perhaps Croatia sold those weapons and got a lot of money.

Doesn't really explain all the dead, wounded, and displaced people, does it?

My paper got mentioned by Glas Slavonije. In that paper, I attempt to use the basic information theory (collision entropy and birthday calculations) to recover the Croatian ancient river naming conventions.

If I am right about the river names, that suggests I am probably also right about Croatian toponyms suggesting that the Croatian War of Independence didn't happen, right?

may I ask why you are telling us this?

It seems there is nothing any of us could do to help you,  and not a few of us have expressed the sentiment that even if they could they see no point.

OK, let me try to summarize it even more: I think that I've calculated, using birthday calculations and collision entropy, that the probability of that k-r pattern in Croatian river names (Krka, Korana, Krapina, Krbavica, Kravarščica, 2*Karašica) occurring by chance is somewhere between 1/300 and 1/17.

Was there really any excess mortality during the supposed war? How much? You know like there was a 17% excess mortality in 2020 due to COVID.

But it could still be chance.

I'd hate for you to have wasted your time on this.

All rivers should be named Greg.

All lakes should be Loch Greg in honour of my Scottish heritage.

And all seas and oceans should be called Mare Greg because Mare sounds cool.

But the modern scientific method works via p-values. If, under the null hypothesis, the probability of some observation happening by chance is lower than 5%, you reject the null hypothesis.

The trouble with that is that all the p-values that can be mustered don't affect whether a particular event (such as the Croatian War) has occurred. As an example, the probability of being dealt a royal flush as a pat hand is 0.00015, yet it's happened to me twice.

The fact that the chances are slight that a collection of names apparently bear some common characteristics by pure coincidence doesn’t illuminate why they seem to bear these characteristics.   Hypothetically, let’s say some big wig had a speech impediment so everything he says sounds like it starts with a k.
