That my cat is smarter than me. I may have known that longer, but too insecure to admit it until now.

Your cat knew you'd eventually figure it out.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Texas bans diacritical marks on birth certificates. You can name your baby boy Jose, but not José.

Been randomly looking up elven lore to discover that the top source refers to Tolkien references.
One of the latest tidbits is that twins are more common in elven societies than human communities. Yet, I do not recall any elven twins from the books.

Elladan and Elrohir (Elrond’s sons) were twins. Feanor also had twin sons, Amrod and Amras.

Read the Silmarillion.

Progeny of the 'half elven'. Elrond was also a twin.

Edit Reason: redacted teacher name

Got this message from my daughter's school:
Good evening families of Mrs. C and Mr. M's students,
"Today, there was a swastika drawn on one of the science tables in Mr. [M's] classroom. This is considered hate speech and is upsetting and unacceptable. Westborough Public Schools prioritizes a safe, inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and hate has no place. We have robust protocols for addressing hate speech. Tomorrow, we will conduct an investigation, contact the families of the student(s) involved, and help educate students about the discriminatory nature of symbols such as these. We are sorry to have to send a message like this, and are hopeful to reinforce our dedication to creating a community where every individual feels respected and supported.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,"
This is the sixth grade. Gee, I wonder where the kid learned about swastikas....
