Good evening families of Mrs. C and Mr. M's students,
"Today, there was a swastika drawn on one of the science tables in Mr. [M's] classroom. This is considered hate speech and is upsetting and unacceptable. Westborough Public Schools prioritizes a safe, inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and hate has no place. We have robust protocols for addressing hate speech. Tomorrow, we will conduct an investigation, contact the families of the student(s) involved, and help educate students about the discriminatory nature of symbols such as these. We are sorry to have to send a message like this, and are hopeful to reinforce our dedication to creating a community where every individual feels respected and supported.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,"
This is the sixth grade. Gee, I wonder where the kid learned about swastikas....
Um.......... in my school a swatsticker would have been considered tame. While concerning, the above seems a bit over the top.

The song ‘Angel of The Morning’ was written by Chip Taylor and is included on the soundtrack of the film Girl, Interrupted, for which Angelina Jolie won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
(the bit I didn’t know) Chip Taylor is Angelina Jolie’s paternal uncle.

Elves are apprehensive about change, and typically resistant to it.
Which makes sense in the seelie vs. unseelie fae courts, I think.
But not so much in Tolkien's middle earth where the seasons are ever-changing.

Reason number 4851 that Richard Nixon was better than Donald Trump: can you imagine Trump doing a call like this to ANY junior Democratic senator who just lost their spouse and kid?
Also, Jill Biden wasn’t Joe’s first wife and Beau isn’t the only dead Biden kid.

Remember the old joke “Why don’t witches wear panties? Because it makes it easier to grip the broom”?
I’m currently about 2 hours, 50 minutes into Novum’s new video on The Witch and it turns out there’s some actual relation to ancient witchcraft lore.

Seven and a half hours of commentary on an 92 minute film?? Hard pass.

You might balk at such a length, but Novum’s videos (particularly the last three Complete Guides) are absolute master classes in both A24 horror, but also the real-life lore (at least as far as such phrases apply to the occult or neo-pagan beliefs underpinning the films.)

Alternately, I could read just books about the history and practice of witchery.

Wouldn't that take more than seven hours?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
-Stephen Jay Gould
