How's the weather treating you today?

Mild temps, some overcast, no rain, no lightning, no thunder. And the electrics have been out for an hour. Dafuq?

Intensifying boomers, perhaps 4" of rain today, 6" over the last couple. We're set up well here, in a declivity but with good drainage and close to but well above the lake. We haven't had rain like this since 2018 or so.
Update: We're 50 miles away from the fatal flooding, but we're getting hammered. Yesterday, I went outside to find my truck upholding a big and old oak tree. The first pic, you can see the stump left by the broken tree, at the far right. My truck is barely visible at the far left.
![]() From the other side you can see that my truck is literally holding it up: ![]() We had a bit of a reprieve this morning but this afternoon it came back for a fifth helping of pissing down. This is what our street looked like as it was falling. The gully in front of our house was empty twenty minutes before I took this shot: We're in a lull now, sprinkling only, but radar shows us in for another heavy round in about an hour. Those poor people in the fatal zones, and there are several, are getting battered again as I type.
I had wondered how close you were to the mass flooding. Sorry about your truck. Hopefully the rain will give all of you in Hill Country a break real soon.

There's already six dead and several missing there from the last two days, and Onion Creek has to be a bloody mess.
The news from that region has been absolutely heartbreaking. I hope you all get a break soon.

Had a bunch of rain this morning. I hate that it's going to go downstream to the area that surely does not need any more water in the waterways.
Supposed to get more starting late tonight and lasting about six hours. I am heartened to see all the locals and businesses that are sending supplies for those that have been hurt by the flooding. There are still a few decent people in this world.

No rain here in Phoenix. We'd welcome some. Just blistering heat as is normal for this region this time of year.
