Back to character creation, hehe. Keep going back to Kitsune character and sorcerer seems to fit it best.
Looking at the companion list, I already know who I'll be romancing. A certain oracle.

Oh, shush.
It was Game of the Year.
It wasn't bad but 18 is certainly more appropriate price for it than 90.

Edit: mentioned it too soon. Changing it up again.

Decided to settle on the kitsune sorcerer. Finding all kinds of weapons, but not a single quarterstaff yet.
And just as I posted this, one pops up.
Edit: but after another look at "sorcerer vs kineticist" seems like the latter will be better for me.

Total War: Troy is on sale at Steam for $10. I like the setting, but it's not as good as other Total War titles, many of which I own but have never played.
Now that I've got my refund from the Age of Wonders 4 key I bought, which was a dud, I may watch for another sale on it. It was on sale at Steam for only a little more than I just paid, recently. Plus end of year sales are on the horizon.

After twenty-five hours, I think I've settled on a Sylvan Sorcerer gnome with a Smilodon animal companion.

XBOX Game Pass has increased to $30 per month. I'm subscribed until October of next year, but a notice on my console seemed to imply that I had until November 4 before the change would occur. So I started looking into cheaply adding time to my subscription by buying time from key sellers. I took a gamble on a 6-month card that was for the India region, but I wasn't able to redeem it. It did tell me, though, that the change has already happened.
I've basically decided that in the long run, simply buying games outright is probably cheaper than the subscription. I've got a year to mull that over. So in the meantime I've started making a list of games that I don't currently own that I might want to buy to play after my subscription ends. I'll watch for sales and sample the games on my list to see which ones matter. The only current question is Hellblade II, which is now at a historical low for the next ten days. The reviews aren't great, but I like the gameplay style. I'll try it a bit to see whether to spend the money or not.

I've decided the same thing regarding PS subscription vs. game purchase. It's just cheaper to buy the games I actually want to play since they rarely include what I like in the catalog of free games.
