Just Be Honest

RE: Just Be Honest
Ah yes Cinjin, I noticed your anger towards people dissing the US since your first posts, its understandable. I rarely go into politics (I admit I don't know/understand much about it), and if I ever said something about the US it was a constructive critique or a tongue-in-cheek friendly ribbing. I can't speak for others.

But, in my opinion, you take your nationality way too seriously, hence all you get pissed easily.Portugal (my country) is under IMF bailout, and I've heard many bad shit people say about it (e.g. the portuguese are a bunch of lazy fucks, etc, etc) But I would be damned if something like that gave me pause. There is also the variable that the US give out more media so its more 'exposed' to critique.

TL;DR: Lighten up bud, have a beer Big Grin

Have I been annoyed, even angry with people pissing on America? Absolutely. However, this thread was not started in anger, nor have I been busting people's balls about their answers (since I'm the one that asked for honesty). I actually don't have any problem with people disliking the US ... hell, I dislike the US right now too. You'll notice I didn't mark the box that said it was the greatest country in the world (like it use to be many years ago).

What has fired me up in the past is idiotic comments about Americans wanting to rule the world, or that all we care about is robbing the entire world, or that we don't help out enough, or some other ridiculous blather. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of Americans gave great disdain for our bankers and politicians and feel outrage about the policies that are regularly being put into place without our consent.

My last post was merely to remind some people that just like you, we don't control most of the shit our government does and I am constantly running into people who bash this country unfairly. My point is, there's plenty of reasons to dislike the US, but could those who do at least be fair about the reason why. Many of us living here don't deserve so much disdain and need to remind everyone in Europe that we got all our religious fucktards from you. Tongue

If I need to lighten up, I was not aware ... however, I will take it into consideration. I can only assure you that currently, I am not remotely upset.
