Too-shay. I was wrong to say that. Admitting they are wrong, yet, another seemingly impossible thing for some people to do.

@Mitja, so you're tolerant of free speech if it's segregated then?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Quote: I also really wish people would just stop for 30 secs and from and 100% unbiased, objective standpoint rationally consider what they believe to be true.

That would be nice, and I would pay to see it. So far I have never run across a human being who is 100% unbiased about ANYTHING.

I have however run across quite a few who have 100% personal certitude that they are right about their personal superstitions. My unbiased opinion of such individuals is that they are fuckwits.

How do you determine what "unbiased" and "objective" mean in a way that isn't conditioned by your own subjective experience? I'm not saying it's impossible, but the issue doesn't seem like something that can just be hand-waved away without serious consideration.

Why not? Didn't you just attempt to hand-wave it away with psuedo intellectual bait? Well, no bites..guess you don't get to spend the next 40 posts arguing about subjective/objective.

Thats right Tack. Stand up for free speech! I may disagree with you time to time, but I will never censor you for it.

You may be right...I may be wrong...I may be right...you may be wrong. Regardless we should both have each others backs when someone comes around saying "this is protected speech, this is banned!" We should both agree to fight THAT guy, not each other.

thats how a free market of ideas are kept free.
