Yes you could. You could just as easily substitute the word "faith" for "retard" and have the political correctness police all over you. It doesn't make the original quote offensive to mentally handicapped people though.

The original quote said faith, not arab. All you are doing is reading into it what is plainly not there. Every statement could be racist if you substitute certain words, but that doesn't make the original phrase racist...

Serious or not, that you can substitute the word "Arab" for "faith" doesn't mean the author meant "Arab" and not "faith" ... sometimes that logic works but not always and I really don't see how it does here. Ev was not being racist.
