I really don't give a shit which one pulls the strings, neither will pull them my way, and there is no other option. So, count my non-vote as passive protest. If we all decided not to vote, just once, they'd have to declare a fucking this or that, and it would be pretty god-damned obvious that nobody gave a shit (not that this would stop them from declaring a this or that by default, but the process would be laid completely fucking bare..wouldn't it). You can't seriously think that had a democrat been elected instead of W, we would still have invaded Iraq? Would you not have lifted a finger to prevent that had you known what W would do? The republicans are motivated to spend the country into debt in order to chip away at medicare and social security. If a democrat had been elected instead of W, you can bet there would have been no rush to trade an opportunity for balancing the budget for a chance to give a tax return to the ultra rich. Yes the system is fucked in many ways but to blithely assume that there is no significant difference is just plain wrong. With kids to worry about I don't see how you can be so indifferent about how much worse things get.
I'm not voting. I don't like either party.
This is stupid
No, I won't. Abe Lincoln is dead.

The true Tweedle Dum/ Tweedle Dee nature of US politics has been graphically illustrated by how little has changed under the incumbent Democrat president. What logic leads you to think otherwise? RE: Questions for American Atheists

Entrenched business interests that don't give a shit which party puts forward the talking head...
Don't get me wrong Whatev, I'd love to have a viable choice here, you show me a candidate that isn't a wholly owned subsidiary. Obama? Give me a break, hedge funds gave generously to his campaign and -surprise surprise-made money by losing money. How did that whole "bringing the troops home" business pan out? Isn't one of the biggest gripes about our current POTUS that he is, in fact, a moderate republican candidate in the first place...lol? Coke, or Pepsi? (wait..wait, maybe I could vote for Ron Paul [insert "I'm not the other guys" candidate here] or something...no...no I haven't completely lost my fucking mind, so that's a no go as well.)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Obama. He hasn't done much, but maybe he'll do something next term. Better someone who doesn't do much than a repeat of Bush Jr.
Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.
I was born with the gift of laughter and a sense the world is mad.
At least you don't argue O'bama -or any other democrat- would have sent troops into Iraq in the first place. That's the difference between 'coke' and 'pepsi', a democrat may not remove the troops as quickly as I would like but it takes a republican wingnut to send them there in the first place. Republicans are the party of american exceptionalism, God and emphasizing the military option as our first line of diplomacy.
Go on thinking that anyone who doesn't do everything you would do isn't worth voting for. It's your and your kids future to fuck up. (June 28, 2012 at 2:42 pm)Rev. Rye Wrote: Obama. He hasn't done much, It's really not from a lack of trying, though. The Republicans got it into their heads to prevent him from accomplishing anything regardless of whether it would be good for the country or not. Their entire M.O. has been to block him at every turn, because they have the goal of making him a one term president. That is their priority #1. They couldn't give two shits about the "American People". All they care about is keeping the power firmly in the grasp of the 1%. |
