Nah. Hughsie mentioned this place, and I've been meaning to come over here for months. My time here will me limited since AF is blocked at work and TTA isn't.

Your heading suggests you are down with accepting evolution as just more of god's plan. (Something I've been trying to get one of my bible obsessed brothers to do.)

Here is my personal challenge to you. How about agnosticism? Can you make that reach? I think a reasonable person has to concede that there is not convincing evidence on either side of the god debate. I am, accordingly, a defacto atheist .. but an agnostic foremost. Can you embrace your faith as an agnostic? Agnostic theists are quite rare. There would be no inconsistency as far as I can see. You just admit the obvious (about the lack of evidence) but then go ahead and stick with your hunch. Why not?

I have. In fact, I used to be a true agnostic then made my way as an agnostic atheist.

Also, I am an agnostic theist. I don't think being gnostic is possible since no one is omniscient.

Well good on you. You are at least my intellectual equal. Welcome.

Hmm... a dog versus an upside-down dog... I'm thinking dog vs. anti-dog...

Could this be the start of the Apocalypse? Armuttgeddon, perhaps?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Careful you don't become too dogmatic about it, Stimby. Forget about upside down, though. Have you noticed what dog backwards spells? I may at last found a form of god I can worship .. namely, backwards.

Yes, I actually had someone a few years back who tried to use that 'dog spelled backwards' thing as a slam-dunk argument that his pet god exists. Strangely enough, he went quiet after I pointed out that dog read backwards does indeed spell god - in English. In French, the name of 'god' would be neihc, the German one would be dnuh, Latin would probably give us sinac (which would make an absolute killer god's name) and so on.

Nah. I signed up here 'cos I fancied the feeling of being a newbie again. I like it here but I still prefer TTA and I still post there more.

I mentioned it over on TTA because my 'debate' with Red Celt was relevant to some over there and it transpired my army of stalkers are more dedicated than I thought. Big Grin
