I don't know about this. While the media will cover many points of view and certainly it excels at sensationalizing everything, I think this event, on top of many others collectively made this one the straw that broke the camel's back.

You had a black kid murdered by a white guy for merely playing his music too loud. You had another unarmed black kid shot and killed by a neighborhood watch wanna be. You have on average 32 gun deaths a day in this country.

I think that this unfortunately has become the needed tipping point and I also think it has been way past due.

Canada allows gun ownership too but they don't have anywhere near the gun violence we do here. No other nation in the civilized west, not even the others that allow gun ownership have the epidemic of gun related death we do here.
