Drop Bear Task Force D.B.T.F Wrote:A Question from an American Tourist that we received via FB message today:

Hello I have a quick question, I saw your website after a friend warned me of these bears and then saw you had more information on your facebook page.

I was in Perth City today, in WA.when I realized that I went out without vegemite and I asked a Police Officer if it was safe to be in the city without vegemite on because of the Drop Bears. He said that Drop Bears are a very real threat but you are safe in city areas without vegemite.

I was just wondering if you could back him up on this seeing as you are the experts Smile?

Hi *********
Yes we can confirm that the local police officer you talked to is correct. In built-up areas like the city you will be safe from Drop Bears.

***End of Messages***

Whoever that police officer was, we love you ♥

(If you are in serious fear of Drop Bears, please ensure you read our disclosures)

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hmm, the creator of that meme should probably do a quick Google search before writing. Wikipedia seems to know exactly when and how the lake turns pink.

Wikipedia Wrote:The lake is not always pink in colour but the distinctive colour of the water changes as a result of green alga Dunaliella salina, halobacterium Halobacteria cutirubrum, and/or high concentration of brine prawn. Once the lake water reaches a salinity level greater than that of sea water, the temperature is high enough and adequate light conditions are provided; the alga begins to accumulate the red pigment beta carotene. The pink halobacteria grow in the salt crust at the bottom of the lake and the colour of the lake is a result of the balance between, D. salina and H. cutirubrum.[2]

cool fuckin place though.
