My asteroid defense method

My asteroid defense method
If a large asteroid was heading towards earth, no need to reinact a Michael Bay movie.

It's quite simple. As we all know, shooting stars grant wishes. These things are tiny. Asteroids are huge so the wish granting power of an asteroid must be incredible.

As the asteroid is just about to hit, we would make a cooridinated attempt across the world to wish it away. If this is successful, it should be able to grant the wishes of 6 billion people and start moving away from earth.

I want my funding now.

It worked with aliens at the end of Earthbound. Flawless.

I see no way that this plan could possibly end badly.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
