The Bible-Boooooring

RE: The Bible-Boooooring
If one considers the existence of a human soul, while a "spiritual experience" could never be validated, it could instead be simply regarded as possible.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

There's no need to do that when we can already explain a lot of these apparent experiences, through testable - natural - and physical means.

The existence of souls is every bit as vaporous as the existence of supernatural experiences.

"Supernatural evidence"? Now, that's a loaded term, jstrodel. Once things have testable, verifiable evidence, they fail to be supernatural.

I didn't try and prove the existence of a soul, I said if we had one, we would have an immaterial organ to "experience" immaterial things.

If no soul, then no supernatural experiences. You say no soul, so you say supernatural experiences are impossible. I strongly hope you don't say that since supernatural experiences are impossible there is no soul.

Doesn't follow. Supposing we did, but lacked such an organ - that would explain why we can't find the damned thing Jerkoff

Quote:If no soul, then no supernatural experiences.
Doesn't follow. The world could be filled to the brim with all manner of supernatural whatsits - and nary a soul among them.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I know what you said.
I'm trying to tell you that, with each new 'spiritual experience' that is being attributed to natural means, there is a dwindling need to say that it's spiritual, and experienced through the soul.
Whilst it is still possible. That possibility (based on current claims) is ever decreasing.
