Are you implying that no theists insult people if someone doesn't agree with them?

Never...?

So, you're saying that the way we treat you should be as ignorant or underdeveloped minds who are incapable of making choices for themselves, much less other people. That's only insulting if the target demonstrates that they are above such treatment. When the target makes the equivocation himself, then you're getting what you think you deserve.

LOL< Tex, if a child asked me why I was an atheist, I would tell them to shut their mouth and that would be the end of it. You're being treated as an adult -who insists upon childlike behavior-... not as a child, where it can be excused, and dismissed summarily.

"Daddy, I saw a faery!" -That's sweet dear, now go play with blocks.

"Hey, Rhythm, I was driving home from the gym and heard the voice of the lord almighty on the radio, and you need to get right with god." .................-Go fuck yourself.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Doesn't make it right.

Oh, we do all the time. We just shouldn't.

cleanshavenjesus Wrote:Never...?

Insults harm. Ask any fat high schooler.

@Ryantology

Why not treat us as if we're mentally retarded? We're lower than you, right?

You're not 'lower' than us. You just believe in things which are so stupid that it calls your competence into question. A person who believes in magic is not a person who should be making important decisions for other people.

Atheists think that religion is more foolish than believing human life is worthless. They are so civilized and charitable with their view of knowledge, and of human civilization that they exalt their methods of learning above everything else and proclaim that science and learning is the highest authority.

This is of course the result of demonic forces talking to them and trying to get them to mock religion in order to cement their false ideas into their head. The thing the devil wants most of all is to make people believe they can do whatever they want.

Atheists are people with the nerve to suggest that the belief that you can do whatever you want is the highest value possible. And why - because science supports what they believe? No, simply, because science doesn't support theistic claims. THUD. Wow. That's it? Because science doesn't support theistic claims? So there is no proof out there, anywhere, not even in the science that atheists do, and plan together, that proves that God does not exist? No where?

The atheist looks, with a twinkle in his eyes and a refined, crisp well educated accept, he is proud and full of self confidence, he looks over and says "I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER GOD EXISTS OR NOT"

I don't believe that human life is worthless.

I don't believe it is either, but I have a specific ethical justification that points to really existent things in the world. Atheists do not have any justification for the belief that God exists, it is not even at the level of faith that they argue for this, atheists argue based in a world in which human life necessarily has no value different from rocks or snails that people ought to make up a "fairy tale" of morality.

The difference between the atheist "fairy tale" of objective morality is that there is no possible world in which there could be justification for atheist ethics, while Christian belief has been considered probable or certain by many of the greatest minds in history.

You may disagree, but atheism is only a belief of God, or not.

Everyone's individual view on things vary after this point. My view of human life and morality will differ greatly to other people on this board.
It may even be different you what you think it may be.

A person who believes in magic can be a physicist and potentially make a break through in the field, regardless of the incorrect belief. The fact that he has something wrong doesn't make him wrong on all accounts. To say otherwise is to embrace ad hominem as valid.

And similarly, I can say that you don't believe in something so self-evident that it calls your competence into question. Making ad hom attacks against each other really doesn't get anywhere.

Joel Wrote:It may even be different you what you think it may be.

I doubt I could just nail it with one guess, but I could categorize it instantly. By removing God as an objective source of morality, people either create some objective source (utilitarianism/hedonism creates the "mankind", positivism has the government) or they make it subjective (whatever the each person "feels"). Both of these have their individual issues. Even the morality with God has it's issues (Divine Command, Euthyphro Dilemma, etc.)
