What the fuck did I steal?

Ew, you're trying to claim you spoke in tongues? Well, you are either delusional or a liar. Only you can know if it is the latter. As for what you stole, you personally may not have stolen anything, but I bet someone in your circle of lying assholes made some money off of your baloney. I'm really sorry if you are delusional, but the absolute and utter bullshit that is speaking in tongues is something I won't pussyfoot around. Lying to yourself is one thing . . .

I've spoken in tongues. I haven't spoken in 'another language'.

I agree on the bs surrounding what is supposed to be the other kind. A lot is made, in my experience, of the 'spiritual' gift, when in reality it's little more than relaxed babbling. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. And the pastor of that church was an incredibly sensible, sensitive and intelligent guy, which is how that church grew to such success.

Isn't it odd that you don't see many Pentecostals online. Especially given the apparent popularity. Stand up and be counted guys!

Nonsense can be dismissed as such, even without firsthand experience. I abhor when people assert that nonsense must be taken seriously.

I can take one look at a person and automatically tell what their happiest memory is by reading their mind. Until you have personally experienced that I cannot, I will consider your dismissal of my powers immature and assume that you are simply denying a power you do not understand.

I don't see why.

Why is it abhorrent to, after reasoned thought, defer to the experts and accept their findings?

Quote:Know why? It denies reason and accountability of former believers of any faith and makes their experiences into nothing.

It makes them into people who are sadly deluded, or pressured, or have not-so-sadly acted deviously. I know what religious experiences feel like, though I have not spoken in tongues, and they were incredible; they just weren't supernatural although I believed them to be such. I have taken the experiences of myself and others, and I have thought about them, and I have concluded that speaking in tongues is no different. It doesn't lessen the experience or mean that I consider the speaker less intelligent, it just means that I think the experience had a different cause and the speaker is not aware of it, or is aware of natural causes but for other reasons assumes their experience was supernatural.

It takes far less assumption to assume that there is no supernatural cause.
Ponders too much; thinks too little.

Yeah, I don't think we could ever be friends. You actually find it funny that I do not take you seriously when you claim to have spoken in tongues.
