RE: ReasonableRuben
Welcome, Ruben. At the risk of overcomplicating things, this is one of the best breakdowns of atheists and atheism I've ever read:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Us...es/Atheism

As pocaracas pointed out, atheism itself is very simple. Atheists, however, are as complicated as anyone else.

Thanks, Mister Agenda. I read that article.

I am well aware of the issues discussed in it, but it was nice to get a "refresher," as it where.

Certainly, we are all very complicated. Smile

A stereotypical, fictitious group of stupid Christians who I imagine would give me advice along the lines of "Don't go talkin' to them athe... aherm... pawns of Satan!"(in the voice of Mater from "Cars," mind you)

"They" are nothing to worry about. Wink

"they" don't know what "they"'re talking about!
Enjoy your stay!

I appreciate you taking the time to do that, Ruben. If you were already familiar with those issue, it may explain why you seem to be so reasonable. Smile

Yes, whilst "implicit atheism" does tend to make theists uncomfortable, one need only come to a realization of its triviality in order to then come to the realization that we can "let the atheists have their implications," stop quibbling over words so much,(though I do enjoy quibbling occasionally) and simply ask atheists to qualify themselves when necessary. I think theists need to learn how to ask the question of atheists "What kind of atheist are you?"(in this definitional sense, of course)

I'm not... welcome to the forum. I have tentatively high expectations for you based on what you've put out so far... I sincerely hope that they be met Smile
