Phosporus for the Beginning of Life
A new study released today.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/201...153520.htm

Quote:June 4, 2013 — Scientists may not know for certain whether life exists in outer space, but new research from a team of scientists led by a University of South Florida astrobiologist now shows that one key element that produced life on Earth was carried here on meteorites.

Quote:Pasek said the research provides a plausible answer: The conditions under which life arose on Earth billions of years ago are no longer present today.

"The present research shows that this is indeed the case: Phosphorus chemistry on the early Earth was substantially different billions of years ago than it is today," he added.

Fuck god.

RE: Phosporus for the Beginning of Life
Preposterous. Those were just the phosphorus meteors that god shelled Sodom and Gomorrah with. It all makes sense now!!!
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Edited post to go further down the tree.

Phosphorus likely shares resemblance with essential fatty acids in its development on earth.
