Paracetamol overdose is an awful slow way to go. :-( I'm sorry. x

Ugh...that's shitty for so many reasons, CD.
Even though I doubt hearing this from someone you barely know anonymously on the internet is much consolation, I offer you my condolences.
It means more than you think, LP.

I tend to go by avatars rather than names to identify people and I got yours and his mixed up for some reason. I need to do something to get my brain re-engaged. I have not the first clue what that might be, though. I'm useless at work. I may as well not be here.
Don't sweat it. You're not even the first one to do that.
I find that watching a good movie is a way to engage the brain but also let it drift enough that it isn't consumed by whatever is happening in real life.
That's what I've been doing for most of the last three years. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times I've gone through our DVD collection. I know all the dialogue by heart now.
So sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like you were very close. This is going to come across as extremely crass but trust me when I say I can feel your loss, probably more so now than I might have been able to back in the day or in that alternate universe where our life went the way it should have.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

She was my best friend's (at the time) sister, and an occasional lover. I knew her since I was 13(?), she was a few years older. She was very troubled. She disappeared for the longest time. Or was it I that disappeared? Perspective is a strange thing. It was half a lifetime ago. Not at all. Such a statement is only crass when it comes from someone who cannot possibly understand the loss. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. |
