I must admit, peanut butter DOES keep me up at night!

RE: I must admit, peanut butter DOES keep me up at night!
G'day Pippy,
I think it's fkn awesome that you hate injustice and have that much fight to do something about these things. It's that sort of motivation which can be the difference between improved or worsened conditions.
There is some truth in everything you're saying but the way you're writing these concerns out seems to fuse them all together and makes it very difficult to locate the underlying issue.
Your writing style might be improved by either drawing all of your ideas (as you've typed them out) to a conclusion. As there's just so many issues that it's difficult to respond without running multiple saga's in a reply post.
Another way might be to develop your ideas into a clearer message. I know it's hard to keep your messages short when you're passionate, but you'll find the information is much more managable.
Sometimes messages aren't easy to express in short form, because either they're highly ambiguous, we don't have the vocabulary to describe it, and/or there are so many complicated points involved that it seems impossible to shorten.
Best of luck, feel free to post in my thread "Is this planet is doomed?"

Thanks mate.

It is important to me that people get treated right, and most especially no one gets lied to. So I do a lot of yelling about liars and cowards.

If I have anything it is passion.

So how do you pay the rent? How do you pay for your happy-pills?

I don't.

I have a full-time job, and have for years. But we are not talking about my actions, only my motivators. I do not have a job because I am motivated to gain money, if that were the case I would sell drugs or something. May be become a thief. I work because it is a decent use of my time here on earth, and keeps me occupied from being self-destructive all day long.

And I don't take happy pills, that would be foolish. Happiness is not a destination, it is only a state of mind.

The way I read it he does the same thing we all do but claims higher ground because in HIS head he has altruistic purposes for being at work instead of just wanting money. Correct me if I'm wrong Pippy. I do wonder how he avoids paying rent though.

I pay rent with the full time job I have had for years, are you guys following?

I don't claim higher moral ground to make little old you feel bad, I do it to empower myself.

I dislike when people try to poo-poo my moral framework, if only because they feel it calls them out or something. Fuck, make your own higher standard, or don't, but I don't do it to lord over you, to feel somehow better than you. I do it because it is the right thing to do.

I have no time or place for hatred or things more petty like self righteousness. I might be wrong, but I think it is important not to confuse objects and subjects when it comes to humans and money.

Be offended or rude. It makes you look taller.

Cool, I got it right! Next time I go to work I will pretend that it is for world peace or something instead of just making money; it won't make any REAL difference, but I can come here and make wild claims about how I am NOT motivated by money. Wheeee! I hope you laugh as much as I do while posting Pip. It probably fails to come across but I am mostly just poking the monkey for a reaction, no need to bite. Wink

Rhizo,
Allow me to poke the monkey a second.
When you go to work for money, what motivates that need beside paying rent, buying food, etc? Is it to feed your family and your pets? I know money is a horrible necessity most people are bound to, but what needs does that money you earn satisfy?
The underlying motivation to that can be altruistic, generosity, greediness, evil, good, world-changing (such as donations).
The act of earning money doesn't determine the motivation for doing so, there can be innumerable motivations for that.

TruthWorthy,

Lol at "horrible necessity" would you rather return to a barter system? Money is an awesome way to store wealth and there is no better system yet.

Your line of questioning is far from interesting. Yeah, I get it, we all live our lives with different goals in mind, but if I plan to use my money to bath and feed hungry chimps from the alpackanese mountains, does that change the fact that I work to make money? Um, no, it simply spells out what I will do with said money, so what was your point again?
