I'm grateful for living 100 meters from the beach, and on a sunny day like this, being off work and able to walk down to the sand and read a book in about an hour! Perhaps a small cooler with a few beers is also in order, which I am also grateful to have a plentiful stock of in my fridge!

Resurrecting:

So I hit a deer on the way up to NOVA on the 28th. After returning and working things out with Toyota and USAA, the car is now getting repaired. However, I didn't have renter's insurance, so I'm paying for a rental today (and yesterday). I planned to turn it back in tonight and be car-less for 4 days at least.

The Toyota sales guy just called to tell me that since he wanted me to be able to give a glowing review of them to USAA, he's now paying for the rental for the next 7 days - something I couldn't afford by half, and something that will make my life immeasurably easier for that length of time, which was the intended schedule for the repairs.

THAT is good customer service.

How much do you want to bet that the guy wouldn't have done it for a single male on this forum?

I'm grateful for finding a used copy of the exact edition of Gadamer's "Truth and Method" that I was looking for at a half-price bookstore for $10 and for which I had a 30% off coupon.

The other crap I bought during their coupon sale this past week is nice, too. (Including a six disc Blu-ray of "Wild China" ($10), the Star Trek: The Next Generation movies on Blu-ray ($12), music DVDs of Queen, Jethro Tull, and Lou Reed, a book on Taoism that's been on my list forever, books on oriental and pre-socratic philosophy, as well as a new translation of the Art of War, and a large edition of the Cleary translation, which brings my total to 8 different translations of the work.)

I almost forgot: I got the Gamera trilogy on Blu-ray for $8.

Screw it. Next time there's a woman behind the counter, I'm stuffing some package enhancing socks down there. I wonder if it would help to wear my pants low enough to expose some top of the penis cleavage .. assuming I shave what you can see.

Now that I'm on a computer that can quote more easily, so am I! I hope he continues to improve, CD.

Anyway to finish what I was saying - no, I don't have any scruples about it. If someone's stupid enough to give me free stuff because they like my tits, bully for them...seems more like whoring on their part than mine. I don't make enough money for it not to be a huge deal when someone helps me out or gives me something for free, for whatever reason.

I am grateful to my 1 grandpa though He is not blood to me, is still very trusting. I could tell him private issues if I wished to.

Last year during summer We (grandpa, grandma, dad) travelled to Spain for a vacation of 2 weeks. My grandpa owns a small house inherited from his parents on a hillside next to a small oceanic lagoon. We lived there for a week and I was able to learn culture and climate in Spain.

At the end of week 1 We visited a church, Santiago. Little did I know that his parents were buried in graves behind the building. He took some time to pray, more so in remembrance.

We also travelled to various places. To name a few, Galicia (where We stayed for the first week), Barcelona, Santiago de Compostella, Leon, and Madrid upon arrival to Spain.

We drove for many kilometers on highways through valleys and mountains. Over bridges that capped skyscraper-height drops below us. On winding roads which never seemed straight. He told us a story of when He was enlisted to the army. He was a high-performing athletic and I trust him on that because I trust him but also because He exercises still in his old age. One time the soldiers were being drilled on grenades and my grandpa went to throw his first grenade. His Sargent had a lot of faith in my grandpa and anticipated what He would do. Then, my grandpa lobbed the grenade and it fell out of his hand towards the sarge. The sarge dove like an Olympic diver behind a barricade. Nobody was injured. The Sargent was very upset with grandpa and slapped him in the face for that screw up. Lol.

The coolest thing was his extensive knowledge of history. Throughout various sites He would describe the background in time to great detail. I would regularly discuss the topics and ask questions based on the information.

Grandpa Antonio (Tony), I am grateful to You as your grandchild and for explaining your life stories while being informative whenever and wherever applicable. Thanks for being You.
