You're doing pretty well for a theist, Pete.
Time for the acid test. Let's see if you can see yourself.

I love the contradictions. Good ol' Bible analogies. Carl's handwriting is pretty obvious too, isn't it?
I see the similarities, sure. I just wonder if every Christian you've run into has been a bigot. If so...you've finally met one that isn't! I like the Mob boss comparison. You see though, I don't believe that God makes people suffer after this life...in fact, even Murderers and Rapists receive a degree of glory after this life. Any kind of hell that person goes through is inflicted on him or herself, whether it's in this life or afterwards. My Hank wants to give 1 million dollars, but without the threat of injury if conditions aren't met.
Or the million bucks, either!
I still want that million bucks. Pascal's wager, anyone? This particular wager seems worth it to me. You could almost say it's what drives my faith, and I believe it's helped me to grow closer to God. Or more delusional. Maybe I'll be one of those kooky old neighbors that everyone has who believes in ghosts and aliens, but this time it's simply just the Mormon Church that I believe in

Pascal's wager always assumes that the particular variant of "god" in question is the one which they believe in.
Whatever will you do if you get up there and its Valhalla? Odin is going to want to know why you didn't die with a weapon in your hand. And Odin gets pissed if you give the wrong answer. Hello Peter and welcome to AF! ^_^
Wow, a LDSer *poke, poke* Yup, he's real alright! Though I find mormonism absurd, I still think the more the merrier and the more versatile the better. And one question, I had a slight disagreement with a friend, in my opinion anyone who follows Jesus is a christian (no matter the branch), but in his opinion mormons cannot be considered christians. What is your stance on this? When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
Non trinitarian Christian

But whether you're Catholic, Protestant or Mormon, if you believe in Jesus Christ as your saviour, then you are a Christian, right? (Or am I making a no true Scotsman?)
