So I think I am qualified to speak as an authority in economics.

How exactly does owning a business make you an authority on economics?

Koolay Wrote:If you have not had at least 2 years experience in the free market, you should not talk about economics- it is just embarrassing to people like me. It is parallel to gentlemen farmers from the city, who claim to be farmers but do not know which end milk comes out of a cow. It's embarrassing hearing so many idiots talk about economics.

I know what you mean. We have this one idiot on here, can't remember his name, but he keeps whining about how the government is evil but then goes on to demonstrate a lack of understanding of the principles behind the theory of government and how it operates.

Not only that, but that same idiot never seems to be able to offer a better system than government.

Koolay, I'm starting to think you are not only a vehement anti-government fanatic, but you are also a hypocrite. Tell us, other than blah blah blah in this forum, what have YOU actually done to contribute to society?

Especially since he has, by his account, successfully navigated the economic environment provided by government and built/managed businesses. I can understand a business owner or manager having ideas and opinions on how government can improve the lot of business and workers. But if your ideas start with the removal of government altogether, you really must have more than just 'my solution to crime is to not commit crime.'
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

He says He bashes all governments but in this thread only gives examples of the "left-wing" to bash. Come on now, Kooky, no bias.

The right wing tend to be dumb socio-paths, the left wing tend to be more intellectual exploiters. They are different breeds of the same evil family, both right wing and left wing have a burning hatred of voluntarism and the free market, the only difference is the rhetoric, in reality you still have to pay them off so you do not get thrown in a cage.

This is the kind of nonsense that pisses me off, because it's stupidly over-generalizing. Right-wingers don't tend to be sociopathic, neither do the left-wing tend to be 'intellectual exploiters'. Asserting it is the case does not an argument make.

The free market has many practical and conceptual problems which I know you've been told by every other user a million times.

Centrists tend to be whiny pricks who do nothing, complain about everything and have no actual, coherent ideas as to solutions for supposed problems... oh wait I'm over-generalizing, that's just you. -_-

Why not? I know a marine geologist who has never spent a day in the water, but she clearly knows more about the ocean than any cuttlefish.

This is a fine piece of logic that smartly skewered his argument.
