It's good for me May to August. You just have to give it a few minutes for your body to get used to the 60-65 degree temperature.

Oh, believe me: I've tried. The wet suit is necessary almost all of the time. My best friend grew up here, though, and he doesn't even own a wet suit.

If I were to wear a westsuit, it would be for January because it's at hypothermia temps then....one of the dumbest decisions I made in life was to get in the water during that time.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

My god, what a couple of wusses! I've never been in the water in San Diego where I so much as hesitated to go in. (Something to do with only doing that in summer?) But it has to be better than the area near Long Beach where I more often go, and a damn sight more civilized than Northern California which I've rarely tried.

My wife though will swim in anything, including glacier melt. Camping below a glacier on a really hot day, she kept going in while I suffered in the heat. Finally I steeled myself for the shock and dived in. Instant throbbing headache. That's when she pointed out that she hadn't put her head in. But for me, there was no other way to get in.

I just hate rays and jellies.
