Body modification

RE: Body modification
An iris tattoo seems about as good for the body as, say, some cosmetic procedure to expose the whole spinal cord.

^^ This.

I don't have any issues with body modification, but personally, I would prefer not to have anything done that was too noticeable. People have interests and personalities that can change in just a few years, so if I'm going to get a tattoo or anything of that sort, I'm going to make sure that it can either be easily and cheaply undone, or that it's easy enough to hide if it ends up being something that I would rather not have anymore.

But, hey, to each their own when it comes to this sort of thing. There's nothing wrong with it other than pragmatic issues, so long as everyone is an adult and sober enough to know not to have giant buttocks tattooed on their face.

Some people's interests and personalities are as unchanging as the seasons and the tides. Will I always associate myself with purple? Yes. In my head, my eyes already have purple irises. Is it a significant issue? Not really... but if I was living in an age where I could fully be me? It'd be done.

If someone *wants* to have a giant buttocks tattooed upon their face: they can go ahead and do that. Our actions may have consequences... but that's up to us to deal with, as we are all actors.

As for the psyche, however, it can be a very good procedure.

Assuming you'll survive that long, yes. You're marrying the tattoo to your self-image. If your self-image changes a lot: you probably will regret your tattoo. If it doesn't (and the tattoo is good enough for you), then you'll probably not regret your tattoo.

Cybernetic upgrades are the way of the future... but you already knew that. These bodies will not forever suit our needs.

RE: Body modification
There are only three ways to modify the body.

1. Hit the Gym, ALOT.
2. Eat, ALOT.
3. Sleep, LIKE A KING/QUEEN.

END RESULT: (when a healthy balance of the three is achieved for a long time)

RE: Body modification
Does anyone else find it funny that the bible is against tattoos, but mandates circumcision? I wonder what the religious response is to "If Yahweh doesn't want foreskins, why are people born with foreskins?".
