Yes, basically, a congressman, in his memoirs, said that a wife has to voluntarily submit to her husband because that's Gods' orders.

If I got married, I'd expect us both to be on equal terms. I wouldn't want someone demanding my wife submit to me anymore than someone demanding my possible daughter marry someone who rapes her. I know it wouldn't happen because we've grown up a bit as a society, but if a boy came to me offering fifty silver (or the modern equivalent) because he said a book told him to do it after raping my kid, I'd force feed him the money before castrating him with a crobar.
