Hi everyone! My name is Bridgette. I am 24 and have been an atheist for about 8 years. Went to catholic school and that pretty much steered me in the right direction. I never really cared or thought too much about it until I was about 16 and then I was like wait...what the fuck? Anyway, I've lived in the bible belt all of my life (half of that time spend in ALABAMA, of all places) and it's fucking terrible. So, I'm all packed and ready for my move to LA on Tuesday. Can't wait to get the fck out of here and be around individuals who know what the words "logic" and "reason" mean, and don't think that science is something created by the devil. I'm excited to get to know all of you and discuss matters of actual importance!
Thanks,
Bridgette

Welcome to AF and welcome to CA!
(there are delusional people out here too, though. Lots of them. Remember: we're the state that made Prop 8 happen)

Welcome. I live in San Diego, and rex lives near here, as well. I did one year of high school Catholic-style. Very nice people, I will say, but felt a tad sterile (including, but not limited to our school uniforms).

haha well doesn't HAVE to be matters of importance...but I would rather have conversations that don't include God, Jesus, the church, or prayers lol unless, of course, we are making fun of them.
ehhh..someone let me know how to post a picture of the terrible years I spent in collared shirts, skorts, and sweater vests and I would be happy to! We can all laugh together
