An unanswerable question
RE: An unanswerable question
I love how much they defend the God of the old testament by pointing to his apparent change of heart after the birth of his first born.

Obviously a god as pernicious, arrogant and maladjusted as that which they worship should not be questioned or condemned.

However much he holds humanity to the desire of perfection, never minding that his creation is intrinsically flawed and thus will never meet his hypocritical ideology.

But, just have faith.

the ultimate answer to this is when so called "god" asked Abraham (the root of all evil) to sacrifice his own son Isaac and he went through the process of killing his own son for an IMAGINARY GOD, Then "god" says "ha!! you were dumb enough to murder your son for my sake then don't.

WTF, how Fucked up religion is?

I don’t know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't.

Abraham was obviously a very troubled man.

Yet he gave rise to the fundamental beliefs of over 4 billion people who regularly kill, maim and condemn one another 4,000 years later.

Well done.

The whole reason the law was instituted was to bring people to Christ. Nobody could live according the whole law until Christ came and fufilled all the requirements of it. The law wasn't destroyed, but by faith in Christ we are no longer the law His rightousness is imparted to us. Paul refers to this as living under grace. Read Romans 6:14 and Galatians 3:10-14. As verse 11 states "Clearly, no one is justified before God by the law..." (NIV). The book of Galatians was written specifically because Jewish christians were trying to convince new Gentile converts that they must follow the law and Paul is chastizing them for returning to the law after having been freed from it by faith in Christ.

Lets talk about paul.. why did he take the vow?? Because he did not believe in jesus..

Read 1Cor9:19-23. Paul wasn't against keeping the customs of the old covenant as long it didn't interfere with keeping the law of Christ. He wasn't going against the law of Christ by doing this, but it allowed him to be closer to the the Jews so that he could preach the message to them more easily. Shaving his head and fasting didn't keep him from his bellief that that he was not under the old covenant.

I've has one yes but the rest never replied. What does this, to you, tell you about religion?

You have to remember that people do all kinds of crimes and atrocities because some crazy nut guy told them to do it. So if people do "evil things" just because other people tell them to do them then why wouldn't they do them if they believe that some supernatural guy told them to do the same things?

A better question might be: do you have the courage to refuse to do something that an authority figure told you to do even though you know the action commanded is morally reprehensible?

Paul was the first person to write about the Jesus character and he was preaching about him in the 30s. Paul was a highly complex man with multiple personalities. He was a religious fanatic and he created the Jesus character to give him an out for his many past crimes. He was able to insert the Jesus character into The Way cult and supplant The Way with his new doctrine. His disciples wrote the Gospels to explain the Jesus character's background and they incorporated some of the political events of the three main Jewish rebel leaders as events in Jesus' life.

Paul created the Christian religion based upon an imaginary character that he had created to excuse his past "sins." He adopted some religious rituals from other Asian religions and essentially renounced the traditional Jewish religion that was practiced at that time.
