Can you imagine how barren the forum would be if people didn't do that?
O.k., you shared a bit too much, but I have felt no arrogance nor abhorrence... just the need to reach out and have some other people telling you did the right thing...that's human nature.
I'm sorry for being brutally honest and not patting your back as much as you would have liked.
:p

Yeah, you bitch!

Just to be clear, the "drunk, angry and stupid" part refers to your years as a Christian?

Kidding. Sorta. In reference to a recent topic, you're my ideal Christian.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Well that's all very well and good and all - but I had 8 kudoses for my post and now its gone.

Gone man - just gone.

In all seriousness though - we all just gave out opinions and generally we like supporting members. Everyone drinks from time to time. My only saving grace is that my fingers go numb just in time to stop me posting something really silly - usually anyway.

Oh - and you didn't by the way - all quite lucid.

And I forgive you for pulling it.

Not sure why you would need to apologise. I've very much enjoyed your posts so far.

You've managed to increase my dislike of the Catholic Church, which I didn't think was possible!

Seriously, blowing Jesus out your ass must be like taking a massive dump, really uncomfortable, mostly messy, a lot of sweating, but oh, the sweet relief when one is done! Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Hi, I think I might have joined this forum the same night as you, I read your post but only replied in my head....I was surprised to read this apology. I am also a teacher and have been Catholic and have been in Catholic schools. Have courage, in my opinion at the heart of being a teacher is your responsibility to educate, if you stop learning yourself then forget it! The fact that you have recognised what the Catholic church actually is can only be a great leap forward. It's important for you (and your pupils) that you don't simply spew the stuff that you have been asked to, but that you actually think! I suspect you may find a Catholic school a little hard to bear if you truly have lost your faith, but it's ok, you're not alone.
Best wishes
