Some of it looks very nice, but overall I prefer the look and feel of Gnome.

Different strokes for different folks.
My first encounter with KDE4 was writing a plasmoid that pinged an ip and displayed a graph over time of the pings. Allowed me to game by noting low ebbs of traffic.
I've always loved Gnome's simplicity. KDE just got bloated and didn't focus on actual complete bug-free features enough for my liking. Every time I used KDE it crashed within an hour or so, whereas Gnome kept running without any problems at all.
Then of course, they released 4.1 without actually having a working product...
The most recent KDE SC's are stable now. I use them daily and they are now compatible with nVidias.
