Totally NOT a debate about the veracity of the gospels

This is what I mean. I was raised to accept that god existed; that his existence was a given and it did not need to be verified because it was true. Without that faith, I would not have been able to gain the "understanding" that would lead to "knowledge" of god. If you do it any differently, if you try to understand god and gain knowledge before you determine that he is real, then I think it really is impossible to accept. You must accept his existence on faith and only then does the rest make any sense.

As long as you don't question that foundation and try to find god, you are okay. I reject the idea that the person who does not find god is not searching in the proper way. I think that the person who does not find god is the one who actually bothered to search.

You are looking at it from a human perspective. If indeed we are infants compared to God, how then is he to approoach us, but by love?

The greatest analogy I've heard explaining Jesus was this: "Jesus is the vocal chords of God." The Word!

There is only one way to approach God. Through Jesus. And through Love. Only by this are we acceptable to understanding! Anything else is God having to prove Himself to us. He doesn't! He could live fine w/o us.

Once we realize, and more importantly acknowledge that EVERYTHING is created, owned and maintained by Him. We can be "open" to His Grace (Love).

I know its hard. Believe me brother, I've been in your shoes. But, I realized that things are easier with Him! I have many, many stories of healings, revelations, and miracles to offer you! But, I know in my heart that it wouldn't matter. Why? Because..... its been a struggle even for me! Why would telling anyone, be better than seeing it with my own eyes, and also being skeptical.

In the face of everything I've learned about God and my Faith.... I've failed at times. But, God hasn't abandoned me. Ever! Just like He hasn't abandoned you either Tonus. I see your heart! Keep searching brother. I'll pray that He reveals Himself in a good way to you. If there is even a glimmer of hope in you to find God.... try to at least be open. Just for a time. Peace
Quis ut Deus?

Uh, hmmm. Lol

Let's look at American history, for a minute. The majority of the leadership in the US has identified themselves in some form or fashion as "Christian." And these early Christian leaders gave us slavery, child labor, refusal of women to vote, and prohibiting homosexuals to marry.

The freedoms of the US came from secularism. To think otherwise means you don't know jack about American history.

You raise many points in your posts Deidre. I am glad you are seeking answers to the questions you have. It is a good indication that you are interested in these topics.

Have you ever visited the website http://www.gotquestions.org?

No.

I am going to provide you a list of websites that I have found to be indispensable to my understanding of "bible difficulties".

http://www.str.org
http://www.bethinking.org (Deidre, in your spare time check this site out, it is awesome)
http://www.reasonablefaith.org
http://www.gotquestions.org
http://www.tektonics.org
http://www.apologetics315.com
http://www.apologeticspress.org
http://www.garyhabermas.com (considered to be The authority on the resurrection)
http://www.carm.org

Most if not all of the questions you have asked here have been answered by men and women who are experts in their related fields pertinent to the questions you are asking.

I have a wonderful book entitled: Is God a Moral Monster? by Paul Copan.

He has, in my opinion, done the most research into the difficult passages found in the OT.

And right there, with his list, you see the problem with this troll. Every one of those sites defaults to isuckedjesuscock.com.

Why don't you try something which is not geared explicitly towards telling you what you oh-so-desperately want to hear, troll? You know...maybe learn something by accident? Or is that too threatening?

Obviously...like the Hebrew who complains and swears off pork, then stuffs his face with it in a closet....your slip is showing perv!

What are you doing watching Jews in a closet? How many have you observed?

Gotta say - been Jewish for 49 years - never seen anyone eat pork in a cupboard.

I dated a British Jew for a while, and she loved pork.

You can be a Jew without subscribing to the customs and traditions of the people.
