Do you take antidepressants?

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

There's nuh-nuh-nuh-nothing wrong with me, I'm perfectly sane! *Kay's eye twitches* When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
Not currently. I have MDD, so my GP prescribes me Citalopram (usually 30 or 40mg) whenever the depression comes along and gets bad enough for me to think I need help. It seems to work for me. I have one particular side effect I dislike, but it works so well on my depression that the thought of trying different meds that might not work so well is kinda scary, so I haven't even mentioned it to my GP.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method. RE: Do you take antidepressants?

I think He's indicating that antidepressants are a sign of weakness (March 17, 2014 at 1:12 pm)Thunder Cunt Wrote: Are you or have you been on an antidepressant medication that helped? I've been prescribed many: trazadone, prozac and several other SSRIs, nortriptyline (antidepressants), Lamictal, as well as several anti-psychotics (Haldol, Abilify, Seroquel), and several benzodiazepines. More than I can remember. I personally didn't use *any* drugs or alcohol for almost two years at the beginning of my treatment. That's right, party animal Cthulhu was on the teetotalin' wagon. I wouldn't recommend using while you're getting stabilized either. I haven't been on anything in over two years.
