Wow. You people make me feel so shit at everything! lol
I watched that bread video and now I'm convinced I can do that. I'll probably fuck it all up, but I'm definitely going to try. Ooh! I will even make some butter nice and fresh to go with it. Fresh bread and fresh butter, what could be better than that.... I'll get some brie as well, maybe. Oh god. Food. I want all the food.

IT IS FINISHED!
* For Miss Quill
What is displayed is a finished tapestry of a painting by Carl Spitzweg named " Carl Spitzweg (1808-1885)
"Liebhaber im Walde"c 1860
original painting
This is crafted from a "stencilled" canvas using wool and 6 strand "pearle" cotton thread. It depicts a Milkmaid and a Hunter about to walk into the "Schwatzwald" (the German "Black forest") as if they are lovers. Most of the tapestry is varying shades of green and the Hunter and Milkmaid are centre frame.
This was purchased in 1988 and for varying reasons has taken until now to complete. It still has to be washed, stretched and framed and placed in my "Office" near my Cuckoo Clock.
Yes I have a German/ Scandanavian heritage.

I like to dabble in all sorts of stuff, but I'm a major knitter.
Here is throw blanket I'm particularly proud of....took forever!
I've wanted to knit a blanket for a long time, but they just look so daunting...
I've been working on what I call my fairytale sweater for about 4 years and I've only got about 6 inches at the bottom hem completed...
(It's my fairytale sweater because the pattern is called Autumn Rose and the yarns I'm using came from a line that is named for aspects of fairytales; the greens are called Frog Prince and Enchanted Forest, the pink is called Damsel, the purple I was going to use but sent back because it was too dark was called Evil Step mother...)
Quote:Here are a few of the scarves I've made (I have soooo many, I don't know what to do with them).
That's why I stopped knitting: too many things made, not enough people to pawn the creations off to.

Wow!! I've been working on a cross stitch of a dragon and a castle for... pff 17+ years (started it when I was a wee preteen) and it's still not done. It's sad because about 90% of the stitching is done, I just have the border and the detail threads to do, I think.

Thank you.
It was purchased as a "stolen moments" project when my children were very young. 10 of those 20 years it just sat in a cupboard half completed as I had other things to do, like caring for said children, I have done many other tapestries but no longer have them (moving is a bitch)
But do try the craft. I find it relaxing.

I don't know if I told you guys this, but I used to own a little crafting studio. I had available all of the tools, supplies, and equipment you would need to make almost anything you want. Owning that shop was some of the most fun I've ever had, and closing it was one of the saddest things I've ever had to do. This thread is fun because it (virtually) reminds me of evenings in my shop; ladies drinking wine, laughing, and crafting at every skill level

Crafting a pair for the daughter (28 year old) THEN maybe I can craft some things for myself!

You should totally sell those, Kichi. I would buy two pairs immediately for my nephews.
