In God We Trust

Alrighty, so a bunch of folk are starting a trend of marking out "In God We Trust" on US buckaroos, and I agreed to help pass on the message in case anyone else wants to help remove those 4 precious words by force. Don't shoot the messenger!

Yes but we can still mark them out. I often write "No Religious Test, US constitution" on top of marking out "In God We Trust".

I've seen a lot of "Where's George" stamping on notes....Never seen "In God We Trust" marked out.

If I do, I imagine people will start blacking that out in counter protest.

No it is not. Every time you do it you are using your voice, and every tiny bit counts all tactics included. It is not to gain sudden de conversions as much as it is to act as conversation piece to put the topic in the public square where it should be.

If blacks and women said "this is pointless" blacks would still be slaves and women would not be allowed to vote. "God" was not always on our currency and on top of that there is still the fact that "No religious test" is part of our common law. It is never pointless to point out facts, ever.

I'm sorry, but removing "In God We Trust" from our currency is not even comparable to the struggle of blacks or women in our history. Nor is it anything like the means they used to win their rights. There are more fruitful avenues to political change than scratching out a stupid phrase on money.
