This looks really, really cool!
I'm anxious to try it, but I'm one of those types who would somehow manage to break my freezer and lose a finger in the process
I am so doing this for my niece the next time she comes over. Where does one find pure water though? I don't recall ever seeing it sold as such around where I live.
I'm disappointed I was hoping for some real hydrokentics. This video lied to me! You have sadden Kataang nerds everywhere.
Mythbusters did it with beer. Cool party trick. Get a beer below its freezing point, then when you toss it to your buddy and he catches it, it freezes. Cool as hell.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Probably go over better with her parents if I stick to the water when I do it for my niece. She's eight. Is pure water also called "distilled"?

That's what you're looking for, yes. Is it "pure" because it's distilled...hardly.....but you know how it is. (pure or purified water and distilled water are essentially the same product gotten by two different means. purified is usually through reverse osmosis, distilled being obvious as to the process, some water gets both - distilled brands being in this category most often - the RO system is supply side to distilleries - but RO's don't generally have distilleries prior.)
