"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech

Welcome OP!

What kind of electronic music? That covers a vast sea of possibilities. I dabble in it myself - love the bleeps and bloops - but I'm mostly a hard rock guitar kind of guy.

Just starting to get (back) into analog synths - modular this time. Kiss your $$$ goodbye!

My name is Mathias and I live on the west coast of Sweden in a small town. (most of the towns are small in Sweden Wink I was brought up on a small island with majority of Christians (Baptists i believe), so many of my friends found jesus early on, I was lucky that non of my parents were believers so I could stand somewhat strong in this sects influences (even if I sometimes as the little kid i wondered why this jesus guy did not come into my life and made me feel that fantastic as promised). Luckily my parents divorced and I moved to the main land and I meet many other kinds of people and influences. To day many years later I have have grown my roots into electronic music and art. Always been a bit of a geek... I love science! And in academic terms i tried practical philosophy, psychology, sociology and geology (in that order Tongue) in search for understanding and work.

I have always been very naive in thinking people are much like me; have an open mind and trying to understand the opposite. But I have slowly wakened up to a world full of ignorant idiots. I have not lost my faith in humanity entirely, with the singularity approaching I think there is hope.

I am here cause I've recently come to realize that i rather define my self as atheist then an agnostic because of the problem arising when arguing with a child of Abraham, when you give them that little finger to grab, witch indulge them to think they got the higher stand, and it is not a good thing. I recently been thru a period of watching many videos with Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and Lawrence M. Krauss. A couple of years ago a thought their approach was little harsh but I have come to realize that religion have played out its role and its time to move on for the benefit for the progress of humanity. So count me in.

I am more of a thinker then an writer (slow and bad grammar) so my involvement in the discussions will probably be short inlays but I hope I will contribute anyway.

I hate you,(not really) But I am a GINORMOUS ABBA FAN, and hope someday I can make it to Sweden to see their museum. FYI Bjorn doesn't like the label "atheist" but he does not believe in a god.

ANYWHO, be sure to barbecue kittens, record the NFL without their permission and rip the tags off of your mattress.

Oh go ahead ask, Brian.

Hey Sweden, is there any chance you could get some autographs from ABBA for Brian. It would really mean a lot to him. If you can hook him up with one of the ladies, he'd sell his god damned car and be on the next jet.
