Christian recall notice

RE: Christian recall notice
I can't think of a single reason to research Mormon claims. I find all religions to be quite far fetched but it requires an extra level of gullibility to swallow the Mormon dribble. Criticizing the Mormon doctrine feels like playing dodge-ball at a Fat Camp. I'm reminded of a funny quote by Sam Harris regarding how easy it is to criticize the Catholic Church over their child rape scandal. I must say, the same is true for Mormonism, it's just too stupid to entertain...

"Frankly, it always felt unsportsmanlike to shoot so large and languorous a fish in so tiny a barrel."

It seems like Mormonism is a great example of how something can blow out of proportion very quickly. It's only a few centuries old, and has a bunch of different sects already. Like the children or grandchildren of the people who started Mormonism are still around, and they can't keep the whole group on the same page about their divine revelations.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

Mormonism isn't even 200 years old.

Quote:DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention!

If you don't accept that you're a worthless piece of shit without our sky daddy, you're going to burn in a place of eternal torment forever.

So where does the good part come in?

Many would say the manufacturer is at fault but the manufacturer has payed the price for the fault and its up to us to accept. No one has suffered more than God as a result of sin.

In what way exactly has god suffered?

It also shows that the maker isn't perfect because if he was perfect then the only way he could make a faulty product would be to do so knowingly. In the real world he would be considered a scam artist.

I have a minor pet peeve with how Christians use the word heart. I realize it is suppose to be a metaphor for emotions but sometimes they make it sound as if human emotions are not a function of our brains

How do you know this?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

People are willing to blame themselves and their ancestors fruit eating behaviour for their terrible design and all the shit they have to put up with. Abusive parent much. I used to blame myself for how my parents treated me. I honestly believed it was my fault and I deserved the shit I was getting. This is no different and no more logical. It took much therapy for me to realize I was not at fault.

I did too! Now that I think about it I started losing faith around the time I finally realized it wasn't my fault that I wasn't the perfect daughter.

This part always seems to both give them trouble and yet elude them as though it's no trouble at all. If only we could make a breakthrough on the importance of this key step in epistemology, I think we'd have a lot more constructive exchanges around here!

He paid no price.

According to the Jesus myth, he took his whole body up to heaven where he is worshipped and petted like the ultimate tyrant king. He seems to have more than been repaid for three days of Roman justice
