Whew, just got to page 6. Pretty interesting going. I too want to be Jenny except for the birthing requirement.

I think I'm fairly transparent about what I do but that will have to wait until I finish catching up. Right now though it is a beautiful day outside and I miss my garden. We have a lovely day planned together with the dog.

My wife also had an easy time of it, or so she tells me. It happened six years before we hooked up. According to her memory, she finished teaching her last class at UC Davis, started to go into labor, drove home, stopped to shop for baby cloths and had that baby out within an hour of going through the hospital door. Apparently she had lost a few others without making it to term.

I discovered with my first that I was allergic to the epidural. Had the other two with no pain meds at all. It doesn't feel good, but it's not nearly as awful as movies usually portray it to be.

My kid sister had her first kid when she was like 17. I drove her to the hospital when she went into labor and was down the hall during the birth. I recognized my sister's voice, non-stop, for some three hours. Poor thing had a hard time of it. I wonder if being so young made it harder, but I doubt that.

I think it's mostly genetic---also perhaps fear driven at least in some cases.

Probably has more to do with pain tolerance. I've got horror stories, but one has to do with having my water broken when I wasn't dilated at all and the other with having my uterus repaired with no meds after giving birth. Labor itself just sucks and might even venture to say it's more exhausting than painful. Some people don't deal well with pain and I would think that would make it much worse. I was in hard labor for 24 hours with Leli due to my reaction to the epidural and my refusal to have a c section. By the end I was so tired and hungry I don't think I even cared about the pain.

I'm ... Not telling you my real name here, but I am willing to tackle other aspects of my life here.

I'm exactly one day younger than Taylor Swift, and yet, due to everything from my beard to living a horrifying life, I look old enough to at least be one of her uncles, if not her father.

I live in Skokie; at the moment, I work Part-time at a candy store and am taking college courses towards a bookkeeping certificate, and am currently riding a bike to both (yes, even in this weather.) technically, it's actually a three-wheeler, since I've never been able to balance on a regular two-wheeler; to be fair, it does help make it easier to drive in this weather.

I'm a writer, writing mostly short stories, currently working on-and-off (mostly off) on a novel. My bedroom is littered with books, DVDs and CD cases. My tastes are insanely eclectic with my reading queue mostly consisting of whatever cheap hardcover classics managed to catch my eye this weekend at Half-Price Books, from Stephen King to world history to True crime to philosophy to the occasional show biz biography. I go to the library every Saturday and get a mix of films, books, and occasionally music. At the moment, I'm listening to a mix of Mahler recordings.

I have the mental health triple threat of depression (unipolar), OCD, and an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I learned to read before I was even potty-trained, but it took me years before I was able to form my own sentences.

I have an insane knowledge base; in college academic bowl, in Freshman year, I was a valued member. In sophomore year, I was the team captain (with a team that strangely resembled the title roles in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly), and in my final year, after spending was cut, but coach managed to get us into a tournament, but everyone else left, I pretty much was the team, playing solo, I still managed to beat 4 of the 6 other schools with full teams.

I also write a column for Anglotopia where I cover weird news, music news, and the occasional film review.
