Red! I'm glad to have you here. I'm sorry you're going through suck a hard time. I hope you're able to stick around, this is a good place to scratch that itch and I think it will help alleviate some of the pressure.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

We have other former JW's. Unfortunately my progressively fucked memory is blotting out my ability to recall the name. Help, anyone?
Meanwhile welcome aboard. You are very wise not to react heedlessly to your loss of belief until you are ready to be independent. Your maturity is enviable.

Tonus is an ex-JW.
Welcome, Redpandazzz.

Redpandazzz, I hope you stick with us. I don't know if we can help you or not but we can try. Talk to us and we'll do our best.

Indeed. I'm so thankful I didn't have to deal with your dilemma when I came to realize I was an atheist. My parents, though Southern Baptist, were my parents first and foremost, and never held our love hostage.
Any help we can give, we will.

I appreciate all the love I've gotten here just on this thread. I've felt so alone going through this for the last couple years without having anybody to talk to. I guess I will have to see what the future holds. I am just appalled at how quick to judge JWs are. I don't know how any parents could remove their own blood from their family simply because that person doesn't believe in someone they have never seen. Even as a child I thought that it was totally ridiculous to sever a bond based on their beliefs. Sucks to have been indoctrinated into it. It's not like I had much of a choice in my life. I was always told "You can do whatever you want but don't expect any help from us", it's like putting a gun to someone's head and saying "You can run but we are going to kill you".

Does the fact that JW's have to go to such extremes to solidify their faith ever bother them?
