Look, we get that what you perceive to be the truth is important to you but you're acting like we don't get a constant flow of religious people here foaming at the mouth to show the atheists the light. It gets frustrating, because, just like in this thread, it's done under the assumption that we are completely ignorant as to what religion has to offer.

We're not atheists simply because we haven't heard of Jesus, you know, and you'll get a better reception from people in general if you make less assumptions.

I'm pretty sure I do know. I'm just not sure I'd call it a malfunction. People appear wired to make connections where there are none. Most people have experienced hallucinations but visual and auditory. The malfunction is in thinking. I've heard voices I can't find in the house and seen people in my own back yard that turned out to be tree stumps. What I am sure of is that if there was a god who spoke to people, they'd all hear a similar message. That fact that what god people see and hear suggests hallucinations. Like UFO sightings, god encounters track the cultural history of the those having the encounter. That suggests that neither the UFOs or the gods are real. If there were a god speaking to people, you'd expect the same religion to develop independently on the continents. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

The difference between you and I is that if I see a fairy in the backyard I look again. That it turns out to be a tree stump isn't a disappointment.

Seriously, I havent seen anyone ask what Jesus said. I just re read everything again. Lot of typical snotty comments concerning the op's sanity but nothing concerning content.

I responded to this statement about what Jesus supposedly said:

He has spoken to me. I could only become an anti-Christ at this point. I had long misunderstood what Jesus meant by "the meek shall inherit the Earth", because I understood the word, "meek", to be along the lines of submissive, yielding, gentle but in regards to my relationship with fellow humans. What he meant was that those who are formed by God will inherit the Earth. So blessed are those that can be molded by God.

With this:

The interesting thing is that you don't all come back with the same understanding of what he said. For example your understanding of what was meant by meek, isn't exactly mainstream, and others who say they have encountered god, say other things, even about that every verse. Yet other have an encounter with Allah.

So instead of taking the high ground and asking for yourself, you chose to make a typical snotty comment of your own concerning the incredulity of the other members? How very xtian of you. Whatever would we do without you to show us the true path?
