At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

To be fair though, they actually think they're doing something when they pray for you. They aren't, to be sure, but they believe they are.

So the intent is usually there for the people that are earnest.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Also, what's the deal with actually telling you that they're praying for you? Apparently it only 'works' if the subject of the prayer knows about it. I'd be far more impressed if someone prayed without my knowledge, recording the date, time and content of the prayer, and then I experienced whatever effect they were going for.

Notice how apologists like to use this "putting a happy face on Atheism" arguement as some sort of a scare implying that there's an ugly face of Satan under this "happy face mask" while having no problem with putting a happy face on religious wars, torture, persecution and hypocricy.

Ditto! And I've been waiting all year to say that! Finally the opportunity presented itself. My prayers have been answered. "And the measure by which you measure shall be measured back to you." I eagerly await the bounce back!

Your username suggests that you should be acquainted with the real world. As for someone being "delicate", delicacy isn't really your strong suit.

It's the "thought" that counts...
