Nothing I said was untrue.

If it passes, the state will have to spend thousands (maybe even millions) in a futile attempt to defend an obviously unconstitutional law. Wouldn't that money be put to better use feeding the hungry?
The untrue I was referring to was you insinuating some of Tennessee's Senators are fools, that in itself is a foolish assumption. If the bill passes the ones who take it to court will have their hands full trying to prove Tennessee would use the Bible to promote one religion, this state has quite a diverse religious community, that isn't opposed by the state or it's people. The state of Tennessee is doing a fine job of feeding those in need, IMO it would be money well spent defending the desire of the state.

Establishing the bible as the state book -is- promoting a religion.  It doesn't need to be established, GC......it's an example of that very act.....the desires of the mob do not trump our laws. One day, you'll be very glad that this is so - and on that day...as the great state of Tenn deliberates over whether or not to establish the quran as the official state book...I'll be right there with you explaining how shitty an idea that is.

Because the Christian thing to do is have the wealthy spend an inordinate amount of time playing politics and wasting money rather than help their fellow man?

You are quite a short sighted individual, if the United States had put the money spent on the space program into feeding the hungry the hunger issue would have been solved and no one would suffer from hunger, but then I guess you would rather have the technology that's come from it instead of all people being well feed.

They seem to go out of their way to show that you are totally wrong.... as always.

You do realize that without NASA we would be behind technologically. It's your kind of mindset that is holding people back. Sure you can call NASA a waste of money but
the RND they put into it the gain for us is great.

NASA, for reference, is a tiny fraction of a fraction of our overall spending...it;s not like we'd have had to choose between feeding the hungry or sending chimps to space......NATO 5.56 Ball, otoh.....holy hell....what a waste.

How so, it only says that we like the Bible as our state book. The Mockingbird is our state bird, are we putting it above all other birds, be careful how you answer this. There is no mob trying to hijack the law, we are conducting state business.

Because having the bible as a state book is unconstitutional. Again church vs state separation fucker and having the bible as a state book is just pushing religion onto and into the state.

RE: Oh Tennessee
There's no law against the government establishing or promoting a particular bird.  The constitution is silent on the matter of mockingbirds. Understand the difference, or is that too subtle for you? Be careful? Why, are you going to come to my house with torches and pitchforks? LOL..wtf? Cross them hills hoss, we'll fuck you up like we did back when.
